Stop press! New GT3 RS launches at Geneva Motor Show. This is the even more extreme version of the GT3 and so naturally gets more get up and go, with 500bhp on tap from its 4-litre flat six, which means it’s all-important Nurburgring lap time is 7mins 20secs, which Porsche points out is 9secs quicker than the V10 Carrera GT. Yes, it’s PDK only, which allows such gizmos as a limiting ‘pit speed’ button. More importantly, though, we’re drawn to the ‘intelligent lightweight design’ which sees the use of magnesium for the roof and carbon fibre for the engine and luggage compartment lids. We like the front wheel arch vents and recess that extends from the front lid and across the roof, a clear nod to classic 911 models. Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus and variable rear axle diff lock should give it stunning agility, but right now we’ll just have to make do with looking at it!
